Gaming Systems/Consoles Registration (Residence Halls)
Students are allowed to register one game device for internet access. Instructions will be in your housing packet on how you can register these devices. You may also use the link provided under the "Resources" section on the right side of this page.

What is a MAC address?

All devices that connect to the internet contain a network adapter. Each network adapter has a unique code to identify it. This code is known as a MAC address.


Locating a MAC address (Microsoft Xbox 360)
  • Go to "My Xbox" in the "Xbox Dashboard."
  • Click on "System Settings."
  • Click on "Network Settings."
  • Click on "Configure Network."
  • From the "Additional Settings" tab, click on "Advanced Settings."
  • Select "Alternate Mac Address."
  • You will see a 12-digit code labeled "Wired MAC Address" or "Wireless MAC Address" (sometimes referred to as Physical Address).

Locating a MAC address (Sony PlayStation 3)
  • Click on "Settings" on the PS3 home menu.
  • Navigate down and select "System Settings."
  • Click on "System Information."
  • You will see a 12-digit code labeled "MAC Address" (sometimes referred to as Physical Address).

Locating a MAC address (Nintendo Wii)

  • From the Wii Channel menu, click on "Wii Settings."
  • Click on "Internet."
  • Click on "Console Settings."
  • You will see a 12-digit code labeled "MAC Address" (sometimes referred to as Physical Address).
