Microsoft Office 365 - Students



Welcome to Microsoft Office 365!

Elmhurst College is now providing you with Microsoft Office 365 free of charge!* All students have access to the latest version of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and much more. Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll get when you log in to your new Microsoft Office 365 account:

  • Office for Windows: Microsoft Office 2016 ProPlus desktop versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Access, Publisher, Skype for Business, and OneDrive for Business.
  • Office for Mac: Microsoft Office 2015 for Mac desktop versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive and Outlook.
  • Office Web Apps: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, OneDrive, Outlook, Calendars, Sway, Froms, SharePoint, Delve, Video, Planner, People, Tasks, Yammer, Power Apps, Flow, Teams, and Dynamics online.
  • Office Mobile Apps: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and OneNote for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone
  • OneDrive Storage: All students are provided with one terabyte of cloud storage, so your work can be saved online and accessed form anywhere.

Ready to get started?  It’s easy!

  1. Sign in to the My Elmhurst Campus Portal (http://my.elmhurst.edu/) with your Technology Account, and click on the "Microsoft Office 365" link under the My Apps tab.

  2. Click the link to sign in to Microsoft Office 365 with your College email username@365.elmhurst.edu and Technology Account password.
     
  3. Access your software and start working. Questions? Please contact the Help Desk through email, phone, or the live chat below.


    Important Notes

    * Students who withdraw or become unenrolled from Elmhurst College will no longer be able to access their Microsoft Office 365 accounts, and alumni will retain their accounts for 12 months following graduation.

    ** Install on up to 5 compatible PCs, Macs, tablets and other mobile devices.


    Change/reset password

    To reset your Microsoft Office 365 email password, you must reset the Technology Account password for the My Elmhurst Campus Portal.

    • Navigate to the My Elmhurst Campus Portal (http://my.elmhurst.edu/). If you are already logged in, log out.
    • Click on the "Forgot \ Reset password" link from the main login page.
    • Enter your eNumber, first name, last name, and birthdate and click "Continue."
    • Enter the answers to your security questions and click "Continue." Please note, security question answers are case and character sensitive.
    • Enter a password. (Note: you don't have to change it to a new one. Just reset it to the old one again because this will force the internal systems to sync the passwords).
    • Once you have successfully changed the password, log back into the portal and wait 1-2 minutes before accessing your email.
    • Email address: username@365.elmhurst.edu
    • Password: My Elmhurst Campus Portal password.

    Download Office 365 suite to your personal computer

    Here are steps to download the Microsoft Office 365 Pro-Plus suite to your personal computer (Windows or Mac):

    • Sign in to the My Elmhurst Campus Portal (http://my.elmhurst.edu/) with your eNumber and password.
    • Click on the "Microsoft Office 365 email" link.
    • Email address: username@365.elmhurst.edu
    • Password: Elmhurst Campus Portal password
    • Once logged in, click on the Office 365 banner located on the top left corner of the home site.
    • Click on "Install Office 2016" located on the top right hand corner of the site.
    • Continue by running the installation and wait for installation to finish. You allowed up to five licenses for personal use.

    Syncing email to mobile devices

    For Android users (5.0 or higher):

    • On your phone, press "Settings" from the apps menu, then press "Accounts" from the options list.
    • Press "Add account" and select "Microsoft Exchange" from the accounts menu.
    • Follow through the steps to setup the account. Enter the entire email address: username@365.elmhurst.edu and the password. For description, you may enter "EC Email."
    • It should auto-discover the rest of the settings. If prompted for the server address, enter "outlook.office365.com" in the field. Leave the domain field blank.
    • If successful, choose from the options to sync your email, calendar items, contacts, and/or tasks.
    • Press "Finish" for the phone to synchronize your data (could take up to two minutes, depending on connection type).

    For Android users (4.4 or lower):

    • On your phone, press "Settings" from the apps menu, then press "Accounts" from the options list.
    • Press "Add account" and select "Microsoft Exchange" from the accounts menu.
    • Follow through the steps to setup the account. Enter the entire email address: username@365.elmhurst.edu and the password. For description, you may enter "EC Email."

    • It should auto-discover the rest of the settings. If prompted for the server address, enter "outlook.office365.com" in the field. Leave the domain field blank.

    • Press "Done" for the phone to synchronize your data (could take up to two minutes, depending on connection type).
